Let Social Media Make Your Martial Arts Event A Real Knockout!

If you are running your own martial arts school you are a very lucky individual! Not many people get the chance to earn a living from doing something that they love. But one of the drawbacks of being the boss is the money and effort involved in promoting your school and any events that you hold. It is vital to put your school out there for the public to see and by holding a martial arts event you can spread the good word. This will hopefully generate some revenue and also attract some new students.

But in order to get a decent size crowd, you’ll need to promote the event successfully. This is where social media can give you a massive boost. If you like the sound of this, please take a few minutes to read the remainder of this article.

Facebook Event Page

As they said back in the days of Woodstock – ‘If you build it, they will come…’, and the same thing applies to a Facebook Event Page. Use your personal profile to extend onto an Event Page. It is a very easy task and will soon get people’s attention. If your martial arts club has a Facebook Fan Page, use this one as well. You can upload videos and photos of your fighters and put a little biography under each individual.

Spread The Word

Once your event page is loaded into cyberspace you can start to do a little moving and shaking on the social media stage You should also ask members of your club to promote the event on their own social media platforms. It only takes a few dedicated helpers and soon your event could be the next big thing. Send out invitations to the people you feel will likely attend and ask them to share your page to their buddies. Visit other martial arts pages and let them know that you’re hosting an awesome event.

Make It Fun!

The main reason for event promotion is to raise awareness and hopefully get some revenue from the show. But you may need to send out a few sweeteners to get the ball rolling. Use one of many Facebook tools to organise a competition, and don’t make it too difficult. Offer some tickets and merchandise to the top 3 or 4 contestants. They will love you for this and may also share their news with other networks. It is well worth the small outlay and you will be surprised how effective this strategy is.

The Devil Is In The Details

Use this opportunity to tell your public about the club and the history, and include the time and different styles of martial arts you are hosting. Be very visual and don’t be afraid to spend a little on some stunning photographs. Martial arts is an exciting sport and push this fact as far as you can on the events page.

And Relax…

If you follow these basic guidelines and add a few ideas of your own into the mix, your next event should have a very good turn out – Good Luck!
